About WWZ. In 2026 it passes through the federal government's quarterly reference market price and adds 1.00 Rp./kWh for the solar guarantee of origin (up to 100 kW). Because the market price is currently low (Q2 2026: 3.90 Rp./kWh), the statutory minimum remuneration of 6.00 Rp./kWh applies for systems up to 30 kW – so together around 7.00 Rp./kWh. What incentives do you get in Cham?
Cham is one of the most incentive-friendly Zug municipalities. The municipality of Cham pays its own PV contribution: CHF 300 per kWp for systems under 10 kWp, CHF 200 per kWp from 10 kWp (at least CHF 3,000), plus CHF 60/kWp for building-integrated systems or those with a tilt of at least 75°. A battery storage system is subsidised with CHF 1,000 plus CHF 100 per kWh. Important: submit the application before construction starts as a rule – and Cham works with fixed submission deadlines (in 2026, among others, 20 August and 5 November, applications via the incentive portal). Anyone planning their project around one of these dates loses no waiting time.
On top comes the base: the federal one-off feed-in incentive (around CHF 360/kW mounted, CHF 400/kW integrated, under 30 kW) and – with simultaneous insulation – the cantonal Zug PV insulation bonus of CHF 60/m² (details). From the lakeshore to the barn: Cham's range
Cham has an unusually broad mix of buildings: prestigious residential locations on Lake Zug and in the village, newer developments such as around the Papieri site – and, on the outskirts, agricultural buildings with large barn roofs. Each of these locations has its own solar logic.
