If you plan photovoltaics, battery storage and a wallbox together instead of retrofitting one after the other, you get one system instead of three construction sites: one point of contact, one quote, and sizing designed from the start for production, storage and charging – not for photovoltaics alone.

Guideline values as of July 2026, before incentives and tax deduction – simply added up from the individual items, no separate package calculation. The individual quote for your roof and consumption is decisive.

Why joint planning brings more than three separate projects: inverter, meter cabinet and load management are designed for all three components from the start, not extended afterwards. If you're only building the solar system today but plan storage or a wallbox in the medium term, you should say so during electrical planning – retrofitting later is possible, but rarely the cheapest order. In what order should you build?

The most common question about the complete solution – and the answer is almost always the same order, because each stage makes the next one cheaper:

  1. First the roofIf a roof renovation is due in the next few years, it belongs before the system – otherwise the system will have to be dismantled and reinstalled later. If the roof is fine, this step is skipped.
  2. Then the photovoltaicsIt's the generator: without it, storage and wallbox have no cheap electricity to distribute. The system is designed right away for future consumption, not today's.
  3. Storage and wallboxBoth can be retrofitted later – but they're cheaper done at the same time, because scaffolding, electrician and meter cabinet work only arise once.

The item that most often dictates the order is the meter cabinet. If it has to be extended, three separate projects mean three appointments and three call-outs. If you name the final expansion stage early – even if it's years away – conduits and reserve spaces are laid out correctly once. It's the cheapest part of the whole planning and the most often forgotten.

The only important thing is to name the final expansion stage early: if you plan conduits and reserve spaces in the meter cabinet right away, you pay for the preparation once instead of at every step. Both are possible afterwards, but rarely in the cheapest order.

As a guideline for a single-family home: around CHF 20,000–27,000 for a 10 kWp system, CHF 8,000–12,000 for 10 kWh of storage and CHF 2,500–5,000 for the wallbox – together around CHF 30,500–44,000 before incentives and tax deduction (as of July 2026). The values are added up from the individual items; the individual quote for your roof and consumption is decisive.
